I WON!!! :) Yipeee...

I think it was the month of May when me and my husband went to Kroger to buy our groceries and I saw some entry forms for Bud Gift Card sweepstakes. I was skeptical of course but half of me was also hopeful that maybe, just maybe I'll get lucky this time around. I like getting stuff for free so I also enter into that stuff online and do some online contest too.

I've been deligently sending my mail-in entries for that Kroger sweepstakes since May and just last week I got a package from UPS. I forgot about it even, and I didn't know what I'm getting and just gave my signature to received it.

I was so shock, surprise and very happy to get a congratulations letter with an enclosed prize of $250 worth of Gift Card. This will help us a lot on our groceries. And of course we already spend it on food and gas.

Thank you Lord, Anheuser-Busch and Kroger! This is the best gift we had.

Novels

They said that after you got a boyfriend or a husband, reading romance novel will not give you much of an appeal since you're living in your own romance. But I dont find that true. I still fancy reading romance novels and it still gives me the joy I get everytime I finish a story. Eventhough you'll know most of the ending will have a happy ending I still love to read all of it. As they say, it's not the destination; it's the journey that matters most. And every one of them has it's own beautiful and unique story to share to it's readers.

I especially love Judith McNaughts books second is Jude Deveraux books. I started reading when I was in High School. I read pocketbooks like Sweet Valley Kids, then Sweet Vally High, Sweet Dreams, Harlequin and so on. I happened upon Jude and Judith when my friend and classmate suggested them to me since her sister are into novel too. That's when I got hook. The book cost me Php99.00 pesos at that time then it went up until it cost me 400 to 500 pesos a book. So I buy them use. My selves got a lot of books on them now, I could even make my own bookstore. My husband always tease me about it, like selling my books. But I don't want too. That's my precious books. Hehe

Anyway, I wrote this because I was wondering why Judith McNaught books haven't been made into a movie. They should do some film on it because she's got a lot of pretty nice plot on every books. They made other's book into a movie, why not McNaught right? I would love to see it on screen, I wish they make one soon.

Invitation

We just receive some birthday invitation from my husband sister in law. It's the 1st birthday of her grandson and I'm happy about that. I love babies and Blaine is just so cute. I like to attend, I hope I don't have work on that day. I pretty much use up my day off.

Watching TV Series Shows

I am way, way, way behind in TV series now. Before, when I was still in the Philippines, I know mostly all the TV series that is out there and I get to follow up with them all the time. It's kinda ironic that I'm now here in the US but I haven't watch a whole lot of TV series/shows for a long time now. We don't have cable here because it's expensive but fortunately, maybe after a couple of months or so from now we'll have one connected, so I can watch my favorite shows and see what's been happening around our area and around the world.

Caregiver.....Nursing

I remember when I first started studying Caregiver in Cebu Normal University, Philippines and later in Medical Institute of Technology, TN thinking this will be a ticket for me to go to Canada (but I end up here in US, that's another story) and the work is not that hard especially when we did our clinicals and labs; It was easy because you were with your friends and classmates. But in reality when I became a Certified Nursing Assistant here in the US, it was tiring. You're always on your feet all the time, eventhough there's lifting machine to help you lift the heavier residents you still do some of the work. My feet was really hurting and my foot massage spa don't ease the pain. So I really admire all those people who can endure all the hard work, it's not easy! And dealing with constant sickness, getting to know them, becoming close to them but ending up saying goodbye to them is really an emotional stressful job. The pay is not that much but its doable I guess.

Well, I'm proud to say that two of my sisters are nurses and one of them already graduated(actually BSN is her second course the first being BS Pyshc) and the other youngest is to follow. Hope they could endure all the hardship this career path they are taking. I gave them the best of luck and I pray that they'll pass their board exams. And to all the nurses out there, God Bless you!

Wedding Anniversary

It will be our 2nd year anniversary this coming June 12, Tuesday. We were planning on going to Vegas but since we are in a budget constraint we thought of just driving to Ohio to visit my sister and brother in law. Yeah, I know what you're all thinking. Spending your free time with your family on your anniversary. Right! But, it's practical this way. We hit two birds with one stone. Get together with my family whom I haven't seen for a while, go sight seeing and celebrate our anniversary. (Hey! That's three.) We can always celebrate our day together alone anytime. We don't know when will be any other opportunity my family and I can see each other. Im also excited beacuse we'll be having some cook out. Yipee! Filipino foods galore.

Birthday

It was my honey's birthday last saturday, June 2 (same birthday with Wentworth Miller). We didn't do much just went out to eat. I feel bad that I wasn't able to buy him something on his birthday. Even a simple card, flowers and cake. To top it off I was working that time. I feel I didn't give importance to his birthday. But I really do, I want to set up some surprise party for him but I dont know how to sneak it inside our house. Maybe next time.

I love to see his face. I wonder if he will be shock or not. Hmmm...

Update

A lot has happened since I post. I'm happy to say that I got a job now and am able to supplement some of the expenses that we have incur. It gave me confidence that I am now financially independent. It's fine to be a fulltime homemaker but the sense of earning money thru your achievement and hardwork is way different.

I'm proud that I can still take care of my family while I'm working too. Very happy right now.
